The GSA SmartBUY Program has established Government wide enterprise Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) for Situational Awareness and Incident Response (SAIR) requirements. The requirements for SAIR were to obtain an evaluated and approved collection of cost effective information security tools. These product requirements include:
- Providing government agencies security products with the ability to check for and report on Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) compliance
- Enabling all Government agencies to purchase security products that are compliant with National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) guidelines (Version 1.0 Beta Last Revised 5/22/2007)
- Providing products that can perform Baseline Configuration Management, Network Mapping, or Vulnerability Management.
