| ISSUE TOPIC: |
Where to find viable, professional Open Source resources for govt adoption? |
“Open Source” is everywhere, but where and how do government technical and acquisition representatives go to
find products, support and accountability? And where and how do open source industry reps let the government
know what they have to offer? Strategic implementation is a twoway
street, so how do we help both sides to
“skate to the puck?”
The goal of GOSE meetings is to collectively identify and address common adoption and policy challenges within
government systems and exchange information and experience on solution strategies, available technical,
business and government resources to help address and overcome these challenges. GOSE meetings are
moderatorled,
but participation in the discussions are essential for a productive meetings. Discussion topics
and issues will be recorded and reproduced on an event wiki and through future issue papers and event topics.
Government agency representatives scheduled to attend this meeting include: U.S. Department of Homeland
Security, Office of Science and Technology (DHS/S&T); U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency,
Manpower,
Personnel, and Security Directorate (DISA/MPS); U.S. Navy, Enterprise Architecture, ERP Program. Additional
government representatives will be included to the list as they confirm.
